LA Eyeworks Poe Frame
Eyewear is a broad term and can mean a number of different things. Eyeglasses, sunglasses, goggles…. It can refer to a low quality, economy product or in our case high end designer frames and top of the line lenses and materials. For our pruposes I would define eyewear as a fashion accessory. For some people it may provide visual correction, but it does so in a highly aesthetic, fashionable way. Eyewear in our world is more than just function, it is form, style, color…. Jewelry for the eyes!
Fashion frame companies are varied. There are mass merchant type lines found in chain stores across the country and they may very well make some attractive products. There are also smaller house, almost couture lines, handcrafted in smaller batches, available only through qualified optical boutiques. You can see the quality in the frame with a simple glance, rich zyls and sleek metals construct frames that house lenses of numerous possibilities. Screwless snap hinges or European spring hinges allow for ease of on and off and durability. Malleable materials on temples allow for optimal fit. Comfortable nose pieces are part of the design vs a necessary afterthought.
Sunglasses take the fashion concept a step further with the lens options available today. Opting for mirrored lenses in a rainbow of colors, a designer can change the look of a pair entirely. A pair of brown mirrored lenses make a classic aviator just that, classic, however take a bright pink or orange mirrored lens and you now have an edgy modern look. The same can be said of gradient lenses, bi chromic lenses and more.
Eyewear of this type adorns and compliments the face. You look forward to wearing it.
