Chanel Sunglasses on Reese

In this picture from the celeb outfit identifier, Reese Witherspoon shows that Chanel sunglasses make the (wo)man.  Her fresh-faced look is simple: slicked back hair, little jewelry and shorts, but by adding these classic Chanel shades, she gives star quality to this casual look. The frames are gently squared to flatter her heart-shaped face, and they’re made of lightweight acetate to fit comfortably on the features. They’re shiny black on black to go with everything, from designer couture to weekend wear.

Hillary Duff in Statement glasses

127Who says, “Guys don’t make passes at girls who wear glasses?”  We’d say Hillary Duff looks pretty “passable” in hers.  Thanks to the celeb outfit identifier, we see her at Los Angeles International Airport sporting these cool unisex frames from Oliver Peoples. She’s kickin’ it old school in these classic black horn rims. There are similar styles from the boutique optical company SALT eyewear.

The great thing about this style is they’re flattering on nearly everyone.

  • Solid construction
  • Available in several stylish colors, including tortoise and black

Hillary’s glasses make a statement.  And that statement is, “These are pretty cool.”

Beige Sunglasses on Britney Spears

Sunglasses Britney SpearsAs we found on celeb outfit identifier, Britney Spears looks anything but incognito in these acetate Heloise sunglasses by Chloe.  She’s in casual mode as she rocks these shades, though they’d be a fitting addition to a dressier look. They’re striking in beige horn, and feature the classic Chloe buckle design at the temple. The oversized square design is flattering on most face shapes, and captures the glamour of old Hollywood. They’re oversized, with an ample tint, to keep out prying eyes – and flashbulbs.

Seeing the beige specs here, it makes me think Ms. Spears might want to check out the line of Mykita Sunglasses as well.

Jolie in Ferragamo Sunglasses

In a recent pic snapped of Jolie in Venice the actress is sporting big, beautiful, black sunglasses and the question has come up…. who made them? Our friends at Celeb Outfit identifier have identified these as Ferragamo shades.

The frames appear to be acetate with a slight gradient lens. In addition to looking fab one can assume that they also offer superb sun protection given the large sized lens and dark tint.

Ferragamo is a luxury goods company originally started by Salvatore Ferragamo. Salvatore was a Florentine shoe designer who lived in Hollywood during the 1920’s working with many of the decades top stars. After 13 years he  returned to Florence to open his own company designing and crafting fine shoes for powerful women across the world.

Ferragamo was always recognized as a visionary, and his designs ranged from the strikingly bizarre objet d’art to the traditionally elegant, often serving as the main inspiration to other footwear designers of his time and beyond. Salvatore Ferragamo died in 1960 at the age of 62, but his name lives on as an international company, which has expanded its operations to include luxury shoes, bags, eyewear, silk accessories, watches, perfumes and a ready-to-wear clothing line. At his death his wife Wanda and later their six children (Fiamma, Giovanna, Fulvia, Ferruccio, Massimo and Leonardo) ran the Ferragamo company.
