Lopez and Luxury Sunglasses
Jennifer Lopez may be just chillin’ on the water, but her Robert Cavalli sunglasses are ready to party. Though her hair is tossed up in a casual bun, these shades ooze elegance. We see her in this picture courtesy of the celeb outfit identifier, relaxing on a yacht in France while her shades work the celebrity angle. They’re the Prasio style, and in true Roberto Cavalli fashion, they’re eye-catching and sophisticated. The smoky lenses fit asymmetrically in the shiny black frames, which gently curve into a sparkly serpentine temple. They come in a variety of colors with complementary lens colors.
Similarly elegant are many sun styles available from Barton Perreira.
Kardashian Sports Tom Ford’s Niko
Kim Kardashian does sunglasses in a big way. Her eyewear of choice the day we saw her on the celeb outfit identifier is Tom Ford’s Niko. They’re big, they’re bold and they’re just beautiful. Their angular frames sets off her features, while providing ample – and we mean “ample” – coverage.
They feature:
- A butterfly shaped, acetate frame
- A bright metal “T” on the temple
- A choice of color combinations. Shiny black frames are paired with gradient green/honey lenses, shiny dark havana frames and black/havana frames come with gradient brown lenses and light havana/honey frames come with roviex lenses.
There is no such thing as being inconspicuous in these stylin’ shades.
Angelina Jolie sports Ferragamo Sunglasses

Jolie in Ferragamo Sunglasses
In a recent pic snapped of Jolie in Venice the actress is sporting big, beautiful, black sunglasses and the question has come up…. who made them? Our friends at Celeb Outfit identifier have identified these as Ferragamo shades.
The frames appear to be acetate with a slight gradient lens. In addition to looking fab one can assume that they also offer superb sun protection given the large sized lens and dark tint.
Ferragamo is a luxury goods company originally started by Salvatore Ferragamo. Salvatore was a Florentine shoe designer who lived in Hollywood during the 1920’s working with many of the decades top stars. After 13 years he returned to Florence to open his own company designing and crafting fine shoes for powerful women across the world.
Ferragamo was always recognized as a visionary, and his designs ranged from the strikingly bizarre objet d’art to the traditionally elegant, often serving as the main inspiration to other footwear designers of his time and beyond. Salvatore Ferragamo died in 1960 at the age of 62, but his name lives on as an international company, which has expanded its operations to include luxury shoes, bags, eyewear, silk accessories, watches, perfumes and a ready-to-wear clothing line. At his death his wife Wanda and later their six children (Fiamma, Giovanna, Fulvia, Ferruccio, Massimo and Leonardo) ran the Ferragamo company.
Plastic Aviators
It’s no secret, I love aviator sunglasses! I love the various shapes and sizes. I love the color range available. I love the infinite lens possibilities ranging from plain old cr-39 to high end polarized glass options. They look great with a gradient tint and they look great with a flash mirror coating. The look is just as classic with a rose tinted lens as it is with a smokey greay. The Aviator is one style that can do just about anything and not go wrong.
A perfect example of this is the awesome acetate aviators worn by a celebrity featured in this pic. Bold styling, classic tear drop shape, gradient lenses and a double bridge…. what’s not to love!

Round Circle Sunglasses
There have always been the fans of perfect round eyeglasses. Almost a cult like following, believing that if it wasn’t prefectly round they didn’t want it. For years, this was an issue. Many designers and eyewear companies stopped making this shape feeling it was too dated, too backward, and not appealing to a big enough audience.
That’s not the case anymore. Round eyewear is back and in a big way. Designers like la Garconne, Proenza Schouler and Anne et Valentine have circular eyewear in their current lines with more to come. Some big, some small, all very en vogue. Various colors have found their way to round frames though it seems it is often the classic like tortoise or black that are most popular.

What type of sunglasses have a cross and skulls?
I just read this question via Google news reader and believe the answer may be Chrome Hearts. Chrome Hearts is a popular brand born of motorcycle and rock and roll. Often the temples are adorned with crosses, daggers and other goth like embellishments. Many frames sport engraving or leather that has been stitched around the frame. This style is highly sought after and not always easy to find. Sold only at Chrome hearts Boutiques throughout the world an a few authorized optical stores these frames can be hard to find.

Celebrity Rocks Designer Sunglasses at Airport

Gucci Sunglasses
Vannessa Hudgens was recently spotted sporting a pair of Gucci Designer sunglasses at the Australia airport she was making her way through with boyfriend Zac Efron. The two are in Australia for promotions ocurring at Bondi beach. interestingly it has been rumored that Zac was being paid by Oakley, a different sunglass company, to participate in surf promotions at the beach.
Oakley was founded in 1975 with $300 by Jim Jannard. He set out to design goggles for motor cross riders, eventually designing the O frame goggle. This item became a mainstay in MX racing gear for almost 20 years. Shortly after this oakley put it’s focus on sunglass design eventually beginning an evolution of eyewear from generic accessory to vital equipment.
Gucci was founded in Florence in 1921 by Guccio Gucci focusing largely on leather goods. The label is now a major fashion house and leather goods company owned by a French Company. Gucci, as many fashion houses, has recently found their way into eyewear. Known not so much for performance, but more for the aesthetic they offer.

There are a number of other great Frogskins colors and patterns available. Similar to the route Ray Ban has been headed with it’s Wayfarer glasses, oakley has been introducing limited editions with funky coloring and embellishments to enliven this classic frame.
